Rajesh C. Rao, MD, is the recipient of the Young Investigator Grant from the E. Matilda Ziegler Foundation for the Blind, Inc. Dr. Rao was awarded $240,000 for a three-year funding period for the project “Epigenetic dissection of hereditary macular degeneration: a stem cell approach.” The Young Investigator grant is awarded to research scientists involved in innovative research and in recognition for their work in the areas of macular degeneration, gene therapy, stem cell research and neuroscience of visual pathways.
