Early in 2018, the University of Michigan filed a provisional application to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office based on technology developed by The Rao Lab. The application, "Compositions and Methods to Derive Mesodermal Lineage Cells and Mixed Tissue Organoids from Embryonic Stem Cells" is based on the Lab's recent advances in deciphering how epigenetic mechanisms control of stem cell fate decisions. Thanks to Ed Pagani, Ph.D. from the Office of Technology Transfer and Lynn Janulis, Ph.D., a partner at Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP for doing a great job assisting us through this process!
