Rao appointed by American Academy of Ophthalmology to Retina Social Editor for flagship journals, Ophthalmology & Ophthalmology Retina

Rajesh C. Rao, M.D., a Taubman Emerging Scholar who uses the Twitter handle @SurgeonRetina, has been invited by the editor-in-chief of American Academy of Ophthalmology journals Ophthalmology (impact factor 8.2) and Ophthalmology Retina to become Retina Social Media Editor.

Dr. Rao, who specializes in retinal diseases of the eye, has been using Twitter since 2015 and has garnered nearly 1,400 followers with his 12,000-plus tweets. His volunteer work as Retina Social Media Editor for the American Academy of Ophthalmology will help the association publicize the latest findings in vision-related scientific research.
